There was a recent article about the 299 exchange on Naushon Island, Mass. in this Digest. (Now in area 508.) I was again able to use the Bellcore number for prefix punch-in, and got Falmouth (on the nearby mainland) for 508-299. Getting a town name does not mean that the prefix serves the town proper.
