I just received my AT&T Universal Card, and its calling card number has no relationship to my home phone number, as might be expected. This probably means that I now have a COCOT-proof AT&T calling card number; only AT&T should accept it. However, I haven't actually tried it from a COCOT, and I was curious if anyone out on the net had. I also like the fact that the PIN is not printed on the card, and can be changed. I used a COT which proudly proclaimed that credit-card calls from it were handled by AT&T. After I entered my Universal Card number, a recorded voice told me that US Sprint couldn't handle my call with this card number. Fortunately, this was a Genuine New England Telephone COT, so 10288 worked with no problem.
