Some of you may recall my problems with a Panasonic cordless phone. I really liked the features and range of the unit, but it had two problems: 1) Certain digits would not break dialtone (in tone mode), when dialed from the remote unit. 2) The base would revert to tone mode by itself, even though it was programmed to operate in pulse mode, after a few days. Seeing that I was going to be on vacation for a few weeks, I decided to send the unit in to Panasonic for repairs along with a detailed letter explaining what was wrong. I returned home today to find the unit waiting for me. I did not have high expectations after I read the techs' service report. He "cleaned contacts" and "replaced battery". I assume there is a non user serviceable battery in the base. In any case, the phone works fine now.
