I am having a problem with some code that I need to run in pdp11 emulation mode on a Vax11/780 (4.1bsd). The code is bombing on an execlp() command, which fails. Through my own testing, I have determined that all forms of exec() will fail in emulation mode. I do not have access to the sources, so I cannot just recompile them on the Vax. However, I do have access to this company, if I can come up with any suggestions for them to try. They have only a pdp11/44 for development work, and they won't let the sources out of their sight/site. According to them, they NEED to use an exec (or something similar) to overlay the calling process for their intended usage (database program). Does anyone out there know of any way to simulate or otherwise fake an exec()?? Any suggestions will be welcome, even if you are not sure that it will work, since I can always test them myself (the other machine that I an using is a pdp11/45 (V7)).
