I went shopping for a portable cellular phone the other day, and was greeted by one of the usual sales types touting the new 'Digital' models, explaining how they "cost a little more, but a 600 milliwatt digital can work nearly as well as a three watt analog transportable." He then produced two Motorola (a traditionally honorable brand) portables and, lo and behold, one said 'Digital' on the front, and one didn't. He claimed the new OKI portable was digital, but the NEC wasn't. The whole thing sounds like snake oil to me. Does anyone out there know differently??
