Another "set the record straight" question: did the decision to establish the T1 standard as 24 voice channels have something to do with the distance between New York City manholes, etc.? An informal history about T1 would be of interest to me, as well as an explanation as to why the European T1 std. is different. Also, thanks to all who responded publicly and privately to my Prodigy question. I welcome any future information you would like to pass along about that service, or about RBOCs' planned entry into residential broadband services.
