The following chart lists the types of systems in use in each country around the world and the carriers in each country (except where there are too many to list). The system in the U.S. is the "Advanced Mobile Phone System (AMPS)" and is compatible with all other AMPS systems. However, compatibility does not mean that roaming is permitted. The systems in Algeria, Bangladesh, Czechoslovakia, Gabon, Guatemala, Hungary, India, Indonesia, Jamaica, Kenya, Nigeria, Paraguay, Uruguay, and Yugoslavia are not yet operational.
