In a previous issue, someone asked about cordless phones with a range of about four miles. Since I have not yet seen a reply, I thought I would add my comments/questions. When I last visited New York, I was walking past one of the 9999 electronics stores and noticed the cordless phones marked "for export only". The range on the box was listed as 25 miles or more -- I don't remember. Obviously, these are not FCC approved, or everyone would be trying to use them as car phones. Does anyone know what frequency these phones use and if such phones will be approved by the FCC anytime soon? Do you have any other information regarding these phones?
