I live in Indiana Bell territory and all my residential phone lines are served by a #5ESS. The only "feature" available is Call-Waiting (sm). I would rather have forward-on-busy instead, but my Bell "doesn't offer that service". Further questioning reveals that there is no scheduled cutover date for CLASS services, and that the only feature they intend to add in the foreseeable future is some sort of remotely-programmable call forwarding (in addition to the ordinary style of call forwarding). I'm served by a switch capable of forward-on-busy, and for all I know, the software may already be loaded into the switch. How can I make them give me what I want? (Yes, I'm aware that I can't very well "make them" do anything, but considering that I had supposedly unmixable service types for several months -- measured and unmeasured lines in the same house -- I'm betting there might just be a way to get what I want.) Thanks in advance to anyone who can give me some advice.
