Peter Thurston (thurston@mrc-applied-psychology.cambridge.ac.uk) in Vol. 11, Issue 362, Message 5 of 11, mentioned British Telecom's calling card. A few ignorant foreigner questions: how do you place a calling card call? Do you have to dial the operator and give him/her the number you want to reach and your card number orally, or is there something analogous to the system in use in the US where we dial 0 + number + (wait for tone) + calling card number, instead of a direct-dial (STD) 1 + number? ["number" here may include area code/city code, etc.] Linc Madison linc@tongue1.berkeley.edu
