Someone mentioned streaming tape drives in a question. Can UNIX handle them? From reading the volcopy source code and watching 'volcopy -buf ...', I have the impression than UNIX could not keep up with streamers. Does anyone know? George Tomasevich, spastic!grt, etc.

From: Doug Gwyn (VLD/VMB) <gwyn@brl-vld> There are some good streaming tape drives that will revert to start/stop operation when necessary to avoid lost data.
