I have been trying to get two parallel printers running under XENIX. The first one runs properly on lp1 (The parallel port on the Monochrome card), but when I configure the parallel port on an AST ATvantage multifunction card to lp2 (DOS lpt3) the printer waits for an extraordinarily long time at the end of each line printed. This system is a Sperry IT with 2.5Mb RAM, Computone 4 and 8 port cards, Archive tape drive, and the above mentioned multi-function card. All of this is running under SCO XENIX 2.0.6 from Sperry (oops! Unisys). My best guess is that this port is "sharing" an interrupt with some other device on the system. Is there a workaround for this problem, or am I doomed to painfully slow printing? Any help would be appreciated. Mark T. Dornfeld Royal Ontario Museum mark@utgpu!rom -or- romwa@utgpu
