I have to be able to get the load average on a UNIX machine. I know that it is available since both the sysmon and the (r)uptime programs use it. Unfortunately, I do not have the source to either of those programs. I was wondering if someone could provide the source to either of those, or perhaps a C call which returns the information. Thank you, David

The comp.sources.unix archive contains a program called "load" which it describes as "Routines to check the load average". I haven't used them, but it might help you. One such archive site is gatekeeper.dec.com which supports anonymous ftp. Mike Howard howard@aic.hrl.hac.com
