Yes, amaze your friends, impress your neighbors and pad out your
resume! Become one of the elite, the few, the proud, the people
who *really* have fun in life! Join the Digital Games Review Digest
review team and have fun reviewing computer and video games in your
SPARE TIME!
Sounds neat, eh? Well, read on, friend!
Uh, seriously, Digital Games Review Digest is a subscription only magazine
dedicated exclusively to reviews of video and computer games on just
about any platform, from Nintendo to Macintosh, Lynx to Amiga and more.
In addition, it's also one of the few completely electronic publications
in the market, a place where you can read reviews of games you might
like to play, written by your peers (or even yourself!) rather than an
anonymous magazine staff who are paid to keep the advertising revenue
flowing in!
Imagine; a place where you can get unbiased reviews including some where
the reviewer states directly "don't buy this, it's terrible!", or, just
as likely, "this is fantastic and worth buying a PC for!"
So what's the catch? Nothing really; Digital Games Review is a free
publication that comes out approximately every two weeks, with anywhere
from four to ten games reviewed. Each issue varies dramatically in
coverage; some are almost exclusively video game systems and others
can be PC/Mac/Amiga only...
We're always looking for people to write reviews for us too, especially
if you've a high end computing system and varied experience with computer
gaming! Further, we have no compunction about running multiple reviews
of the same game (unlike more traditional magazines!) too...
Anyway, if this sounds interesting, then why not grab a back issue of
the Digest? And even some submission guidelines too, if you're interested
in joining the elite review team too! Simply send mail to the Digital
Games Information Server: info@intuitive.com with the message body
containing the lines "help" and "listall Digital.Games". To get the latest
digest, add "send Digital.Games/Digests/Digest.14" and the submission
guidelines: "send Submission.Guidelines".
To actually join the mailing list and start receiving new issues of the
Digest as they come out, send mail to digital-games-request@intuitive.com
with your preferred email address contained therein!
Finally, a sample: the last two issues have contained reviews of the
following games:
NES: Airwolf, Crystalis and Karate Kid
Genesis: Herzog Zwei, Thunder Force III, Batman, AfterBurner II, Cyberball,
Super Monaco GP and Whip Rush
PC: The Magic Candle and Stunt Driver
Lynx: Klax
TurboGrafx: Double Dungeons
and in the queue:
Genesis: ESWAT, Ghostbusters and Whip Rush
Mac: Bomber and Darwin's Dilemma
NES/GameBoy: Dr. Mario
NES: Destiny of an Emperor and Pipe Dream
PC: Harpoon (2 reviews!)
So join now while there's still time! Don't put off for tomorrow what
you could do later this afternoon!! And...if you join now, we'll throw
in a free transcript of this message too! Don't DELAY!
"are we having fun yet?"
