After some more testing of the PC version of NetHack 2.3 I came across two serious bugs. I haven't yet had time to try tracing them down. The first occurred when fighting monsters. The thing just froze up, and finally I had to reboot. This happened in two different games, against an 'h' and an 'R,' if that makes any difference. The second occurred when I was taking the Amulet out of the dungeon. The wizard was after me, and I got swallowed by a purple worm with several other monsters around. I was wearing a ring of conflict. It gave me the infamous "Program in disorder- perhaps you'd better quit" message, and printed "atl(32,107,b)" then a few other atl()'s with other numbers, then seemed to get into an infinite loop printing atl(-1, -1, something-or- other). I had to reboot. Both problems occurred while in debug mode, but I'm not sure if they would also happen in regular games yet. If anyone wants to try to fix these bugs, please do and send me the fixes. I may not have time to do much debugging right now. - - - - - - - - - - Steve Creps, Indiana University, Bloomington, "home of the Hoosiers" creps@silver.bacs.indiana.edu (192.12.206.2) {pur-ee,ihnp4!inuxc,rutgers,pyramid}!iuvax!silver!creps creps@iubacs.bitnet (forwarded) "As seen on MTV"
