Today I uploaded the PC version of NetHack 2.3 to the archives at simtel20.arpa. They are now available when accessed by anonymous ftp to that site. The distribution consists of two archive files located in the directory pd1:<msdos.games>. The files are named nhack23a.arc and nhack23b.arc. Here is a sample ftp session you might use to get these files: % ftp ftp> open simtel20.arpa (or 26.0.0.74) ... user: anonymous password: ident ... ftp> cd pd1:<msdos.games> ... ftp> type tenex ... ftp> get nhack23a.arc opened connection... (some time delay- minutes) ftp> get nhack23b.arc opened connection... ftp> quit % To those of you with ftp access, happy hacking! To those others who plan to get it off comp.binaries.ibm.pc, I'm trying to get it posted. I hope to have the problem with moderation worked out soon. (Two parts of it I "posted" today bounced back in the mail.) Remember: download it as binary files! Also remember that the executable is larger than a 360K floppy disk will hold. Finally a reminder that I won't be able to email this out individually to people. - - - - - - - - - - Steve Creps, Indiana University, Bloomington, "home of the Hoosiers" creps@silver.bacs.indiana.edu (192.12.206.2) {pur-ee,ihnp4!inuxc,rutgers,pyramid}!iuvax!silver!creps creps@iubacs.bitnet (forwarded) "As seen on MTV"
