Well, I did what I thought were pretty good tests on the NetHack program after I applied the patches John sent me, and couldn't get it to give me the error I had gotten before. As soon as I start posting it I go back and it crashes again. Also, I don't think many sites got the first two parts of the distribution. Therefore, I am delaying posting the last three parts of the PC NetHack 2.3 executable for a couple of days, until I decide whether to wait another week or so to try to fix that bug, or go ahead and send the remaining parts. Starting over doesn't sound so bad, now that I know many people missed parts one and two. By the way, before I posted parts one and two of seven of the executables, I posted parts one and two of two of the support files. Did anyone get these? Summary: check this weekend to see what's coming next. I will announce what I plan to do then. Well I was off the net for a while and I get back to find out the long awaited less-buggy nethack3.3 is too damn long for me to run on my machine. Howz bout throwing out the soldiers and sinks or something and uploading the executables to simtel? Pleeeezzzzz!!!!!! My vote for shortening the game would be to rid it of non D&D type stuff. Land mines? Sinks? Three stooges? Gimme a break. Michael Michael
