I've been playing a good deal of nethack 2.3 on a SUN 4/260 and have learned to dread the infamous """BUS ERROR""" :-(. When this attacks, it leaves no score (and as far as I know, no way to recover). However it does leave the alock files. This really hit hard last night as I had just managed to return to level 1 after having reached level 60, obtained the amulet, and was going to pick up my stash of $100,000+ and 20+ "real" jewels to add to my score of 360,000+ points (all of which would have been doubled upon exiting) when "BUS ERROR" bit me again. This was going to be my best "E" (or any other) game ever. If anyone knows how to avoid or recover from it please let me know. p.s. Has the problem been found & fixed for 3.0 ? Jimbo from Utah
