I purchased Leagacy of the Ancients a couple of days ago and thought I'd post a review. LotA is a graphics adventure game in the mold of Questron, Ulitma I, etc. The graphics are good some Very good. The play is fine. The story line goes something like: A scroll has been ripped off from the galactic museum on the Torean (sp). This scroll is super evil and you found it (but won't keep it for long) and have to figure out how to neutralize it. The museum is an interesting twist to the game. The graphics are pretty good here. There are exhibits that you have to find coins (out in the real world) to operate. Some of these exhibits will actually transport to someplace, others are info only, and still others will identify a mini quest in themselves. I'm having fun with this guy, but am a little disappointed in that it is so close to Questron in world map (Two continents, one castle on each, the castle is even so similar, I knew which treasure chests to open first!), that the thrill of 'discovering' something new isn't there. There is a copy proterction scheme that is very difficult to over come. You get a DISK of the ANCIENTS, which consists of two wheels rivited together in the center, identified on the circumferance, one has 25 names of planets, one has 25 different jewels. In the middle is 9 windows. What you do every time you enter the museum (which is often) the game will give you a planet, jewel and window number, you line up the planet and the jewel, and then read the number in the correct window, and type this number in. All this trouble, and I'll bet the wheel will copy pretty easy. Overall I'd give this one a 2 on a -4 to +4 scale. Now that I've reviewed this program, Questron comes back to mind. If I remember correctly Questron gave indications at the end that there would be a follow on to Questron, did that ever happen? I don't totally win many of these games, and I want to keep the one streak I've got going complete! logden
