Laurence Brothers (the author of Omega) has sent a new version of Omega, version 0.75, to comp.sources.games on usenet. An executable version for the IBM-PC is of course available as well. I've sent the executable to the moderator of comp.binaries.ibm.pc, so it should appear there soon. For those of you who don't want to wait, here's information about how you can get the game now. You can ftp it from my local host, brokaw.lcs.mit.edu (18.30.0.33). Login to anonymous, cd to the pub/pc-omega directory, and get the files pcom-bin.arc and pcom-fil.arc (in binary mode). Since simtel20 no longer has games, I'm going to try to put PC-Omega into the grape archives: grape.ecs.clarkson.edu (128.153.13.196). Also, for those of you who want the sources, there is no separate version for the PC any more. All changes for the PC are now contained within the main set of sources. Laurence will probably make these available for ftp, and for now I've also made them available in the directory specified above with the name pcom-src.tar.Z, a compressed tar file using standard Unix formats. After appearing in comp.sources.games, they will be on whatever sites standardly archive that newsgroup, e.g. uunet.uu.net (192.48.96.2). As usual, any general bugs or comments should be sent to Laurence (brothers@paul.rutgers.edu), and any PC-specific bugs should be sent to me. -- Nathan Glasser fnord nathan@{mit-eddie.uucp, brokaw.lcs.mit.edu} ST Quote: "I've never heard a malfunction threaten me before." - Sulu Question: "Our prices range from $20-$40, and up."
