[rec.games.misc] Uninvited Secret Room

pkent@gara.une.oz.au (Phillip Kent.) (10/21/90)

So far no-one has responded to the last posting( apart from alot of people
wanting to know about it also.), so I'm reposting a varied version in the
hope that someone, somewhere out there might know.
Here is a quote from a document entitled "SHADOWGATE, The Secret Room."

"There's an even more obscure hidden room in Uninvited.
   But that's for next time...

                                             Joe Egg
					     Sept. 12, 1987 "

Has anyone heard of this bloke? or is it just someone's idea of a joke?

Thanks in advance: )

              Phill Kent.

Yes and yes. All of the MacVentures (Deja Vu, Uninvited,
Shadowgate, and Deja Vu II) except for Deja Vu II (to the best of
my knowledge) have secret rooms, and they are very much the
programmers' idea of a joke. The one in Uninvited, in particular,
has a fairly interesting story behind it.

Would you care to share it with us, or even just a hint of how to get
into the room! Ok so we know that the room is through the door to the
left in the Magisterium. **Please** (double that) give us a hint!!!!

note: "us" includes all the other people who mailed me , who are also
dying of curiosity!

Forget it! Mr. Snively is incorruptible. I did manage to get one
piece of information out of him, for those who know what to do with
it. The secret room in Uninvited involves a feature of the star map.
(I know what the feature is. Those who have also found it will know
what I'm talking about. Those who haven't will just have to look
for it.)

I know what you mean, but that's not a secret room. I heard that there is
a way to use this 'feature' to get in another room.
Anybody?

For people who want a hint...
(spoiler follows)

There is a special object on the star map. Try clicking on the star map
and look carefully.

Okay, this begs the question: What's the interesting story?
