Someone I know would like to put a DMZ32 on one or more unibus PDP11s. They run RSX-11M and RSX-11M-PLUS. Yes, I know that the DMZ32 isn't supported by DEC on anything besides VAXes. As far as I know, they don't even have any diagnostics for it that run on PDP11s. I assume that what he plans to do is to buy a DMZ from DEC (assuming that DEC, in its bureaucratic bloatedness, would be willing to sell him one if they knew what he was planning to do with it) expecting no support of any kind, except for having it plugged into a VAX somewhere to confirm that it passes its diagnostics. He'd then move it to the PDP himself, and use it happily from that point on. If it broke, I guess he'd move it back to the VAX to be fixed. Anyway, this guy would prefer not to write a device driver if he could possibly avoid it. If anyone has actually used a DMZ32 under RSX, or knows of anyone who has, I'd appreciate it if you could pass the info along to me, and I'll forward it to him.
