[comp.sys.dec] MACRO-11 cross-assembler wanted

WANTED:  a MACRO-11 Assembler (to generate PDP-11 instructions)
that will run on a VAX (either under ULTRIX or VMS) or on one of
several micros including a Macintosh or an IBM PC.  The people
looking for it would prefer something low cost or free.

A macro-11 assember and linker were posted to net.sources a while back
for building the TECO-11 that was posted at the same time.  The
assembler, linker, and teco all ran in PDP-11 compatibility mode on
the vax, as I recall, using /usr/lib/games/compat.  There was a
followup article, too, I think, that corrected an error in the
instructions for using it.  I had saved them at the time, but chucked
them when we converted from 4.1 to 4.2, as no one was using them.
( I would have used the TECO if that version had the W and :W window
instructions present in current incarnations of TECO).

I believe that the assembler and linker were the same ones included
for building the harvard lisp that comes on the 2.8/2.9BSD tapes
in the user contributed software heirarchy.
