Help!
We ordered Ultrix-11 v3.0 for our PDP-11/34a (256kb)
on a magtape. I get the very same error whenever I try to
boot the distribution, yet I have run diagnostics without
error on all my equipment. We have reordered the tape just
in case the software was bad, but still the same error, shown
below. We bought the license, of course, but when I explained
the problem to the local DEC service, they told me that they
didn't recognize the problem, and that they can't help me
anymore because for our machine, Ultrix-11 is
"Not supported, Ultrix-11, version 3.0 software can be installed
and run, but with severe restrictions"!
Does anybody recognize this problem?? My busses are connected
properly, and this error dump is standard Ultrix format, dumping
the registers. The "Bus error" LED on the PDP-11/34a does not
come on. This is what happens when I boot the distribution:
Sizing Memory... [it's supposed to do that]
Trap - bus error [but not this! I should
get a Boot: prompt!]

The SR displays 36500. Any help is appreciated. Please respond
