A friend of mine is interested in aquiring DEC Vaxstations to support a new insurance company (property and casualty) but doesn't know what types of software would be available to run under either Ultrix or VMS. He would like to know specifically what would be available in: premium and claims management financial software (accounting, portfolio mgmt, etc) Please mail any responses you have to me and I'll forward them to him. Why restrict yourself to DEC hardware? It seems logical that if you know what kind of software you want that the logical thing to do is find the software and purchase the machine it runs on. Much easier than the other way 'round, where you must badger the software vendor to port to your machine. Even worse, you may wid up having to pay for the port.
