We have a Unimation PUMA robot that we'd like to hook up to any one of three different Unix boxes we have (SGI Iris 3030, HP 9000/Renaissance Box - oops I guess I meant two ;-) to use them as supervisor systems. Ultimately we'd like to be able to simulate robot stuff on the unix systems and download the successful paths etc to the robot. The main problem here is that the PUMA controller only speaks DDCMP - which I gather is DEC's serial-line DECnet protocol? Does anyone know of a set of subroutines/functions for Unix Sys V with Berkeley extensions if needed that will take data and encapsulate them into DDCMP packets for transmission to the puma? Commercial or not, I'd really be interested in hearing about anything that could help with this. Thanks in advance, Joel J.
