We have 3 vax 11/780s. Two of them run VMS, the other runs 4.2BSD. The
Berkeley machine's line printer finally went kaputz, and it isn't cost
effective to fix it. Since most of the users of this machine or in the other
building, and since printout activity isn't that great, we really have very
little need for a heavy duty line printer. The two VMS machines have LP27s
hooked up, and one of them has only moderate activity. What I would like to do
is share one of these LP27s between the two machines.
So what I'm looking for is a device just like these Print Sharing Devices you
see for PCs, etc, but one that has those funny 50 pin interfaces DEC uses. If
anybody knows of such, please let me know.
