Ok, Dec-buffs. Try this one... Equipment: 11/70, Item in question: M9312 Boot Question: What is the address to use to boot from a TE16? Well, it's like this. The machine is normally booted by loading 017765744 into the address reg., setting the SR to 056 (or 050 for quik) and START to boot from RM05. Now, I thot that 212 was the SR setting for TE16? or is that for TM11? If you know, please share the fun with me. As a matter of fact, if you have more info (other SR settings, and even the DIP settings for the M9312) please pass it along also. Oh, and also... Is it possible for the M9312 to autoboot? (e.g. no need to flip the switches) have a fun day... -- Scott G. Taylor PMD Resources, Newbury Park CA (805) 499-0367 mutley!staylor@wlbr.eaton.com Discalimer: They really don't know me here. I believe the 212 and 1212 boots the RX11 (RX01 & RX02) controller. The 56 and 156 should boot the RH70 controller (RP06's,etc.) Mike Kitchen

(e.g. no need to Here goes: in switch register bits 5-0 goes the code for the device to be booted... in sw 8-6 goes the rom number (which position the specific rom goes in) in swiitch 11-9 goes the drive number so to boot the tape drive with the rom in position 1 (usually the disk boot) load 17765744 set swr with 12 for first rom, 212 for next rom (usually tape drive), 412 for 3rd rom and 612 for 4th rom. A quick check for tape boot is try loading 173004 and starting (if tape is in first rom it'll boot, then 173204,404 etc. Also you can power up boot the M9312. For power up booting of an RM05/RP06 set switch 2,6,8 and 10 on the M9312 on. This will boot the RP if the RP rom is in socket 1 and the diag emulator rom is in E20. To check what roms are where... E35 is rom 1, E33 is rom 2, E34 is rom 3 E32 is rom 4. To power up boot from other than rom 0 use the chart below: sw 3 sw 4 rom 0 0 0 rom 1 0 1 rom 2 1 0 rom 3 1 1 1 is on 0 is off or open. -- Bill Pechter {sun!hoptoad,cmcl2!phri}!dasys1!pechter Lakewood Microsystems, 103 Governors Road, Lakewood NJ 08701 (201)370-0709 Evenings Big Electric Cat Public Access Unix, New York, NY
