[comp.sys.dec] Need an opinion

lanec@comet.dec.com (09/24/88)

Greetings,

I hope the following question does not abuse the intended purpose of
this group or the network in general but I'm not sure how to get it
answered otherwise.

I have one of the original PDP-8 systems that I am thinking of selling
but I have no idea what it is worth. It is the first in the series (no
extensions like PDP-8 E or I). It is the tabletop model with the plastic
bubbles over the modules. It's only IO device is an ASR33 type terminal.
It was built in late 1965 or early 1966, I think.

If you have ever seen one of these things for sale or if you have any
opinions regarding thier possible worth, could you mail a note to me?

Thanks, Mickey Lane

I would'nt know the exact worth of your system but
when I picked up a WT78 {pdp-8 based} wordprocessor
with dual 8" drives and NEC spinwriter, at an auction
I paid the grand total of one bottle of J. Walkers
Black Label whiskey.
You may get more for your system but then again some
people have a twisted sence of value 8-).

..Mark..

P.S. While I'm here does anyone know/have any software
that will run on my machine... It's running O/S 78 {if
that's any help}.
Thx.
