We recently added a Sun 386i to our previously all-VMS network (Decnet + LAT) and got the ULTRIX Connection package from DEC to support Internet-style communication with the Sun, especially including NFS. Unfortunately, the current release of the package doesn't support rlogins in either direction, functionality we could really use. So whaddya think? Should we: o Get an rlogin program for VMS from somewhere? Does it even exist? o Get source for rlogin under **IX from somewhere and change all the system calls to QIO's? (We can pay for it if necessary, although a complete source license is probably too much. :-) ) o Get the rlogin RFC (does that come from Berkeley?) and roll our own? o Be good users and wait for the next version of ULTRIX Connection, which DEC says will include rlogin? I should add that we mostly need to rlogin from the VAXen, which talk to our terminal server, to the Sun. I think that makes it easier. TIA. Tim Victor {ptsfa, hplabs, ucbvax}!well!timv
