I am trying to locate documentation on the DSV11-M (a 2-line synchronous communications board for Q-bus machines). This should have a part number of EK-DSV11-UG, but DEC does not seem to have heard about such a part number, and lists NO documentation for the device (though they can find a part number for the board ...). If DEC runs true to form, it may be some time in the next century before they list the documentation for the device in their part numbers directory (this has happened before more times than I care to remember). I need the documentation to provide a quote to a potential customer for adding support for the DSV11 to a communications software package that I support (somehow it never seems to dawn on DEC that someone might actually want to use their comm gear for anything other than DECnet or possibly SNA). Since a rather substantial DEC hardware sale depends on this quote, you would think that DEC would feel a little motivation to provide a little bit of help. You would also thing wrong. Anyway, enough DEC-bashing. Does anyone have ANY idea where I might pry out a copy of such a document? If anyone has a copy of such a beastie we would be more than willing to fork over a reasonable amount of money for the documentation/postage (but I DON'T want anyone to try to sell me a DSV11-M device ... I don't know if the customer is going to go for this or not, & we don't want to be holding the bag for $4300 (the DEC list price) or whatever the board might be selling for from the 3-rd party resellers). Thanks muchly. Bruce C. Wright
