I need any information on the performance of DECs TA79 and TU79 Tape Drives. What is your maintenance history, down-time, media damage, loading problems, I/O errors, etc. In generalm I am asking for overall satisfaction (or dissatisfaction) with these tape drives. As an alternative, does anybody know of a third-party controller that is compatable with the HSC50 that will allow IBM tape drives to operate on VAXClusters. Any Information would be helpful. Thanks.
