Well, I hate to join the DEC-bashing bandwagon, but... I am appalled
at the response time from DEC on SPR's we've submitted, and am
wondering if we are getting particularly bad response time, or if it's
this bad for everyone.
The following chart shows all the SPR's we've submitted. The length
of each bar is proportional to the days elapsed from our filling out
the SPR (they've all been posted within 30 days of being filled out,
I'm pretty sure, most quite a bit sooner than that) to the date on the
SPR response or today, whichever occured/will occur first. Some of
the bars are off the scale (i.e., greater than 9 months elapsed) and
the number at the end of the bar shows the total number of days. The
date at the left of each bar is the date we filled out the SPR. If the
SPR has received a response, the chart contains "*"s. If there is no
response yet, but there has been an acknowledgement (the goldenrod
copy), the chart contains "."s. If there hasn't even been an
acknowledgement yet, the chart contains "+"s.
How does this compare with the rest of your experiences? I'm hesitant
to use the new phone-in SPRs (if they are available -- I tried once
but Software Support Center had never heard of them) for fear of
losing this paper-trail accountability.
