We are having TERRIBLE problems with printing. Can anyone help? Please answer by E-MAIL and I will summarize to the net. Our configuration is a VAX 8530 running ULTRIX 2.0, sending remote print jobs to a VAXstation 2000 also running ULTRIX 2.0. Our printers are an Imagen laser printer and a DEC LN03R Scriptprinter, both connected to a DECserver 200 terminal server running LAT. The problem is that the connection between our hosts and our printers are hanging for no apparent reason. The only way to resume normal printing is to reboot the VAXstation, reboot the terminal server, kill and restart /usr/lib/lpd on the VAXstation, or some combination of the above. I have been told that LAT is at fault and that this is a well-known problem. Is this correct? Is anyone else having this problem? Has anyone gotten around it? Any help GREATLY appreciated. Our printers are hanging about every 2 hours. I am going insane with this rebooting! Please answer by E-MAIL because I do not always read this group.
