The VAXstation 3100 and DECstation 3100 have an RJ (Dec-connect) six pin socket for both the printer and modem ports. My question is, what is the pin numbering and what are the pin assignments? In other words, as I look at the back of the WS, is the socket numbered 1-6 right to left, or vice versa, or something else? And once I know that, can I safely assume 2 is transmit, 3 is receive, and 1 is chassis ground? And what about signal ground, normally pin 7? Where is it, if anywhere? And also, are any other leads, such as DSR, DTR, etc used? Thanks for any help you can give.
