I set up 4 3100/15" color systems with 100meg discs last week
This week I got my own 300meg/19" monochrome - I am really
delighted - as much as when Xwindows came up for the first time
on a uVaxII way back in '85 -
Some questions to 'the fathers':
1: Will the monochrome (Xmfb) do grey scale? How?
We have a greyscale display program on a qdss uVaxII
that fails with 'display won't do grey scale' when we
try to open the window on the mips display from the uVaxII.
I thought since it did color on a color monitor etc. etc.
Where did astray I go?
2: Will a color monitor just plug in? - I was given to beleive
this is correct by my salesperson. If so - can we display
the greyscale on that. (I have a 19" color GPX monitor to
use)
3: Using Xdvi to the monochrome the resolution of the fonts is
poor compared to the uVaxen (both 19"monitors) - why is that?
4: How can we thankyou?
5: What's next?
I love my mips I love my mips I love my mips I love my mips
