Greetings from North Texas. I have a MicroVax II GPX running BSD 4.3 from Mt. Xinu. I am trying to boot a new kernel by typing "b any" at the ">>>" prompt. My problem is that this is not working the same as our Vax 11/780. Instead of letting me specify the device and file name at the "boot:" prompt (i.e. ra(0,0)nvmunix), it blows right by it as if I had just typed "b" instead of "b any". How can I give the "boot" command so that it stops and lets me enter the device and file name? Apologies if this is something obvious in the manuals, but the machine belongs to a faculty member and he said no manuals came with the machine. Thanks in advance for any info. -------- Chris Britton chris@dept.csci.unt.edu {killer, iex, convex, utd, texsun}!ntvax!chris University of North Texas 817-565-2279
