I hear a rumor from someone that the DECstation 2100 has no serial ports (other than those for the keyboard and mouse, and opposed to the 3100, which has two additional ports). Could someone take a look at the >back of their machine and let me know? > > -Steve Steve, The 2100 is exactly the same as the 3100 except for a slower CPU/FPU (12.5 MHz vs 16.67MHz) and slower cache (35ns vs 23ns). Other than that, everything is exactly the same; same board etch; same other components; and same serial ports.
