Wanted!!! Someone to Beta test a memory board for a DECstation 2100, or a DECsystem 5400. Whats in it for you? Determine if adding more memory to your system would show an improvement without having to buy it. Maybe your system is CPU or I/O bound. In this case, adding more memory would not improve the performance . . . Unless you are CPU and/or I/O bound because the system is doing excessive paging. The best way to determine how much improvement you will see by adding memory is to add the memory. In addition, the Sale department has said that beta testers will "earn valuable discount credits". I'm not sure what this means but it sounds like you might get a price break if you bought one later. Whats in it for us? We get to verify the design and check out the installation instructions with more systems. Although the boards have been run on our 3000 series systems and extensively checked with our test equipment, there is nothing like real applications to prove out a design. We are also looking for valuable feedback on the ease of installation and clarity of the installation instructions. Who, What, Where, When and How: When: The time we have scheduled for Beta testing is Now thru September 31. The Rest: Call Steve Schmidt at 609-799-0071 ext. 216. Monday-Friday 9:00 to 4:00 pm EDT or leave mail. We only need five beta sites. Once we have those sites, beta testing will be over.
