Hello, I have something to post for a friend of mine who cannot post articles.
Please send me e-mail if you have any suggestions or stories for my friend.
Here is his question:
** We are contemplating installing an Exabyte 8mm helical-scan tape drive
** on a DECstation 3100 for the first time. Have done Exabytes on a lot
** of Suns and other things, but never this one. Has anyone been through
** this? Any horrible gotchas? Will gladly trade gotchas with any other
** interested parties, too...
As you might suspect, he has had some problems with interfacing Exabytes
before. Me too. These are SCSI devices that sometimes need driver patches
to work correctly on Sun workstations. But they're worth it when you get
them going! Has anyone done this successfully? Feel free to e-mail me.
