The computer I'm using (a DEC AI Vaxstation, supposedly the same as a Microvax II) has a flow control problem: it doesn't work. At all. I normally use a modem at 2400 bps to access the computer, which means output is thrown into a buffer. The problem is painfully apparent when long output is being generated. I cannot pause or stop the text from srolling by. Since this computer runs a BBS in cbreak mode, it's really easy to hit a wrong key and have to sit through 150 messages. This problem is global in scale; it affects everyone who uses the computer. I've looked through the manuals for stty, ioctl, tset, etc., etc. Nothing seems to offer any help. Is there some easy setting to adjust? Admittedly, not all of Unix's support programs are here. The one program we need may be missing. But what is it? We're running BSD 4.3. It's really important that we get this fixed since more and more users are complaining.
