[comp.sys.dec] X or Dec Windows drivers for RasterTek terminals

kingleon@humvax.UUCP (Kaptan Klingon) (11/18/89)

I've been offered some Rastertek Model 10 terminals. (About 4 years old
and in good condtion.) Does anyone know of DEC or X-Windows drivers for
these things for either VAX/VMS or DecSystem Ultrix?

   For that matter, does anyone have RasterTek's telephone number. The
number in the front of the manual is now an Atari repair firm.
=========================================================================
Don't bother me about all that high tech stuff
             - I'm still trying to cope with fire and the wheel!

RasterTek merged with Alliant a couple years ago.
I tried porting X10R4, but was stymied by a very weak bitblit in the 10 series.
I haven't tried X11 because it is 3-4 times more compilicated to port a server.
However, X11's generic color frame buffer server seems to be less machine
dependent than X10 and should be more successful.
The last time I talked to Raster Tech, over a year ago, they weren't interested
in supported X on the 10 series but were considering the 4000 series.
Maybe they've changed their minds.
