[comp.sys.dec] NULL device in VMS

rlc@ra.cs.Virginia.EDU (Robert L. Chase) (11/29/89)

What is the NULL device under VMS? I've seen references to NL:, but
under VMS 4.7, 5.0, and 5.0-2 it isn't defined. What (shipped) startup
file has the definition? Thanks for any help.

The null device is NLA0:, aka NL: (same device.)
It's assembled into the exec, so it's always there.
Try SHOW DEVICE NL and you should see it...
