I would like to install these applications on a DS3100, and have some questions. 1. TeX: Is the normal Unix distribution sufficient to install TeX and related software? Must one have a pascal compiler for any of it or is C enough? What is the best source of the software? 2. emacs: Is the gnu distribution of emacs sufficient or are any additional files required? 3. kermit: Is there a version that will compile and run on the DS3100? Where can it be obtained? 4. pascal: Are there pascal compilers for the DS3100? Where can they be obtained? Thanks for your help. Please respond via email. -- ==================================================================== Brook G. I grabbed the UNIX TeX package and used WEB2C to compile TeX. I've had no problems with it. You can get UNIX TeX via anonymous FTP from labrea.stanford.edu, whenever it gets back on its feet. On the other hand, I would imagine that someone at the UT CS department has a full installation available.

1) The normal U. Wash. TeX distribution should work fine. 2) The current GNU distribution should work fine. 3) we certainly use Kermit here. Dunno where we got it off hand. - Jim
