I want to put a modem on a DECstation 3100, and I'm wondering about the serial port speed. Is it true that the limit is 9600? It would be pointless to get a 19.2K modem if the serial port is limited to 9600. Thanks for the info.

It appears that if the serial port is being used as the "console" then the system is going to run it at 9600 baud. If it being used as an auxilliary port, the it appears that other speeds can be used. -- George Robbins - now working for, uucp: {uunet|pyramid|rutgers}!cbmvax!grr but no way officially representing arpa: cbmvax!grr@uunet.uu.net Commodore, Engineering Department fone: 215-431-9255 (only by moonlite)
