Judging from the past month's traffic, I would say that "net.unix" has become entirely redundant. The only traffic which appears there is cross-postings from net.unix-wizards. Given this, it is probably time to remove it from the list of active newsgroups. Savings is small, perhaps: no traffic reduction, but the effort of each computer to cross-link article + size of newsgroup name in header will add up. I'll collect opinions (via e-mail please!) and report any results in a couple of weeks or so. e-mail addresses: ki4pv!tanner%ucf-cs.cs-net@csnet-relay (arpa) ki4pv!tanner@ucf-cs (csnet) {decvax|akgua}!ucf-cs!ki4pv!tanner (uucp) -- or use "Path" from header -- -- <std dsclm, copies upon request> Tanner Andrews, KI4PV uucp: ...!decvax!ucf-cs!ki4pv!tanner
