[net.news.group] Time for a Painless Death

tanner@ki4pv.UUCP (Tanner Andrews) (02/13/86)

Judging from the past month's traffic, I would say that "net.unix"
has become entirely redundant. The only traffic which appears there
is cross-postings from net.unix-wizards.

Given this, it is probably time to remove it from the list of active
newsgroups. Savings is small, perhaps: no traffic reduction, but the
effort of each computer to cross-link article + size of newsgroup name
in header will add up.

I'll collect opinions (via e-mail please!) and report any results in a
couple of weeks or so.
