[comp.sys.dec] 4mm DAT tape drives on DS3100

I'm looking for opinions and experiences with 4mm DAT drives. We're thinking 
purchasing one for our DS3100. 

What we've learned so far, is that DEC has one, but the delivery date is 
too far in the future, so we're looking at 4mm drives. We've got litterature
from HP, WangDAT, TriStar, Summus and WangTEK, and they all look about
equal. Haven't got prices or availability and most claim to be shipping.

I'm just tunning in here so I don't know if this has been discussed, but
I'll mention we aren't looking at 8mm because there's a lot more vendors
aligned with 4mm, and because 4mm seems to be superior technology.
