[comp.sys.dec] TAR-tape on VMS

tage@edbs.uit.no (Tage Stabell-Kuloe) (05/04/90)

I want to run 4.3BSD on my mVAXII, but have no tapedrive on it. My only tape
is on the 8600 running 5.0, VMS that is.
The 4.3BSD tape contains 9 files.

I have tried
	$ MOUNT/FOREIGN/BLOCK=10240/REC=1024 TAPE1:  (All DCL-commands are in
	$ COPY TAPE1:*.*;* .                         capital letters, yes :-))
to get a large ".;1" file. I get a 100 Mb file which my Wollongong FTP
refuses to read fully, returning some EOF-message.

DECnet copy from the mVAX returns even less; that is
	% dcp odin::'tape1:*.*;*' .

Ideas ?
