We have just taken delivery of our first VS3100 mod 38 with the SPX graphics accelerator. We find the screen _really_pleasing_ (:-), and performance of trivial graphics is indeed accelerated w.r.t. our existing mod 38s. However, when we come to put new (and significant) products on the machine, we find a 30-40% slow-down w.r.t. the GPX machines, which is not satisfactory. Our local DEC salesbeing has put us in contact with technical beings who say that `other major customers' have had `problems' (not performance) with the thing; we have found bugs, too, if that's what's meant... Has anyone on the net experienced similar performance hits from the use of the SPX? Did they isolate the part of their application that was causing the problem? Are they willing to reveal to the rest of us what the said problem was? If so, feel free to report your exciting experiences to me, and I'll summarise to the net.
