We've got a Q5 uVax II and an 11/23+ box (with KDJ11-AB engine) both with DEQNAs. DEC has the DEQNA-to-DELQA upgrade program and we have some end-of-semester money. The 11 will (eventually) go away, or at least stop being a production system, and my plan is to at that time move the DE(L/Q)NA from the 11 to the uVax. (For various reasons, but basically trying to keep local network traffic local by having 2 nets). Question is: will upgrading BOTH the DEQNAs now work? I know the uVax side will (VMS v5.3), but how about the 11 (RSX11M 4.2E)? A DELQA "SHOULD" just pop in and run, right? (I've heard that one before...). Or will I need to find a QLA driver? We're licensed for 11M 4.4 and whatever DECNET version goes with that (4.4?, 4.3 + updates?) but are not under any software maintenance contract. Anyone have any experience with this process? Thanks in advance. David W. Juers D38J@VAX5.CIT.CORNELL.EDU Department of Soil, Crop, and Atmospheric Science 1113 Bradfield Hall Cornell University Ithaca, NY 14853
